Bollywood Barndance (September 2009)

Following on from the success of the Spaldwick Fete, the next even run by the Spaldwick Social Group was the Bollywood Barndance. Click here for photos.

This was a fusion of Indian food and barn dancing. It was held on Saturday 26th September 2009 at Grafham Village Hall.

A very good evening was enjoyed by 80 people. There were 79 dancers, since the Chairman - Gavin Lessing-Caller - twisted his knee and had to sit it out. Likely story!

Spaldwick Fete (July 2009)

The Spaldwick Social Group has brought back the Spaldwick Fete, which has been a long-running tradition in the village and was an annual event until a few years ago. Events included dancing, races, singers, drummers, bouncy castle, BBQ, face painting, steam engines, stalls, football, slide and more. There were over 750 visitors and £2000 was raised. Spaldwick Church has six bells, and we have an active bell ringing group within the village. Practice takes place on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Did you know that there will be a nationwide church bell ringing to ring in the 2012 Olympics? If you would like to be part of this, it is not too late to start learning. Most people have the ability to become a good ringer. Great physical strength is not required and people of all ages from 12 upwards are welcome.
