Lights! Camera! Action! Special film night at Escape

It’s the final Escape youth group session of 2012 today, Friday 21st December and, to mark the occasion, we’re running a special film night. The young people will be watching Avengers Assemble on the big screen at Spaldwick School between 7pm and 9pm along with a tasty hot dog!

We look forward to seeing everyone at the film night. Please note that as the film is a certificate 12, anyone aged under 12 will need a signed consent form from their parent or guardian.

During the evening, we’ll also be raffling a signed book by television’s favourite cook Mary Berry – a judge on the popular BBC2 series Great British Bake-Off.

Win a signed book at the Christmas Fayre!

Calling all budding Great British bakers! There’s the chance to win a signed book by television’s favourite cook Mary Berry on the Escape stall at the Spaldwick School Christmas Fayre today, Friday 7th December.

Mary, a judge on the popular BBC2 series Great British Bake-off, has kindly signed a copy of her successful book as a raffle prize. As well as the raffle, Escape’s stall will include a treasure map with prizes including a chocolate Santa and four chocolate reindeer! Finally, there will be a Chinese raffle with the chance to win a gingerbread house and a yard of Jaffa cakes! The Christmas Fayre, organised by FOSS, will start after the end of the school day. We look forward to seeing you on the Escape stall!

Calling all parents: Escape Committee needs YOU!

To avoid closure, Escape youth group desperately needs new members to join our committee! Occasionally, we have to cancel a youth club because we have insufficient committee members to operate safely. Please join us!

The Escape Youth Committee is currently made up of just five parents. Some current members of the committee are considering stepping down because their children no longer attend the sessions.

We’re inviting parents to attend our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 3 July at 8pm at The George, Spaldwick, to find out more.

If you feel that you do not have the time to commit to the committee, please consider helping on an occasional basis. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. To get in contact, please contact escape@spaldwick.com.

Finally, we would like to give a special thank you to the generous people of Spaldwick for donating a total of £101 at the band night held by Kit Lee, Mark Sturdy and Ed Roughsedge at The George. Half of the money raised went towards Escape and half towards the St. James Church roof fund. Also, big thanks to the Luminus Group (Huntingdon) for their generous donation of £200 for equipment for Escape.
