New menus for The George in Spaldwick!
On Monday 9th January 2012, new owners took control of The George in Spaldwick. The new owners are also the owners of the highly-regarded White Hart in Godmanchester.
We have just received copies of the brand new menus (in PDF format), which can be viewed or downloaded by clicking on the links below. Jane, at The George, has promised to keep us regularly updated with special offers and events in the coming weeks. New owners for The George in Spaldwick (again)
We have just received the following correspondence from Cozy Pubs – the owners of The George.
During the first few months of trading, we came to the conclusion here at Cozy Pubs that the pub just didn’t take the required level of income and we felt we could not support it any more. It was a difficult decision for us and one we didn’t take lightly.
We have been working to ensure the pub stays open for the village and have some good news on that front. As you may know, the pub has of Monday of this week been taken over by the owners of The White Hart at Godmanchester. We believe the transition to the new management will be a smooth one and that all the staff have been taken on by the new owners. So we are confident that we leave The George in safe, experienced hands for the village for the future.
We sincerely valued all the custom we received in the time we were at The George.

Forthcoming events at The George
We’re very lucky to have a high-quality pub and restaurant within Spaldwick. Please give The George your full support! Here are details of forthcoming events:
Thursday 17th November at 7pm: Wine and cheese tasting with Daryl from No 12 Deli, Spaldwick. Try a selection of cheeses alongside home-made chutneys and crackers, with a choice of seven different wines chosen by Stan Park from Milton Sanford. Cost is £22.50 per person.
Tuesday 22nd November: Winter menu tasting with a selection of three different starters, mains and all of our puddings for £28.50 including a glass of fizz on arrival.
Thursday 24th November: Thanksgiving Evening, with a hot turkey buffet for all the family to celebrate. Adults £17.50 and children £10.00.
Saturday 26th November: Cocktail evening. If you fancy a Cosmopolitan, Mojito or a simple Bellini, then why not pop down and test our cocktail making skills. We’ll then be serving our new cocktail menu every day.
9th, 10th and 11th December: Cask ale festival with three great local guest ales on racks by the bar plus our usual good selection of beers. £3 a pint.
Tuesday 13th December: Christmas Carols with Spaldwick School plus mulled wine and mince pies served outside the front of the pub. 7pm.
Sun 18th December 2011. Christmas carols sung in The George from 19:00. Book for a special two course menu at The George featuring a hearty home-made soup of the day and a warming beef casserole for £12.50 per person.
Christmas Day 25th December: Christmas lunch at The George. View the Christmas lunch menu. Prices are £72.50 for adults and £37.50 for children. View the Christmas day menu. Please note that The George is only open for lunchtime on Christmas Day, serving food between 12 and 4pm.

The Spaldwick George reopens today with new owners
