Escape February News

Mark SturdyWe’ve had a number of new members join us in January from Year 6. Welcome to you all! We hope you enjoy the Youth Club.

As a reminder, Year 6 pupils are welcome to attend if they are already aged 11 or their 11th birthday is before Easter 2014. The remaining Year 6s can join us after Easter.

Tony (our professional youth worker) has set a schedule of special events for the Youth Club sessions!

In January, our youngsters, using specially designed ‘beer goggles’, had a chance to experience the effects of alcohol on their senses and how it affects their driving ability (using the Playstation!) and their spacial awareness. In a second session, team competed against each other in ‘Team Tower’ themed events.

February sessions will be as follows (7-9pm):

  • February 14th – Mad Science – Calamitous Chemistry
  • February 28th – Rocket Races.

Admission is just £1 per person.

Many thanks this month to Playtimes for kindly donating £63.86 raised from refreshments as Santa went round the village before Christmas.

We’ve had one parent volunteer to help Tony and the committee with running the Youth Club! We need additional help each week to run the tuck shop. It’s a very important job. Just ask any of our members! If we have more parents willing to help just once, they would make a big difference to the running of the club.

If you can help, please either email or speak to one of the committee members at the Youth Club.
