At its January meeting, the Gardening Club put together their ideas for this year’s Open Gardens Day on Sunday 22nd June 2014. We have now launched our dedicated Open Gardens 2014 page here:
https://www.spaldwick.com/open-gardens
We are pleased to announce that, once again, we will be selling the Hybrid Tea rose ‘Simply Spaldwick’ (shown above) as part of our fundraising for local charities.
This lovely scented rose with glossy foliage will be available as a potted, established plant at £11.95. Members of the Gardening Club are already placing orders so, if any non-members would like to order one or more of these plants, you will need to get your name down as soon as possible by contacting Roger on 891683.
We are pre-ordering a reasonable number from the growers and we will, of course, be selling this rose on the Open Gardens Day . We suggest that you reserve your plant to avoid disappointment!
Other activities that have been finalised are:
- afternoon teas with homemade scones and cakes
- flower festival in the Church
- plant stall
- fantastic raffle
- Number Twelve’s homemade ice cream
- Children’s Treasure Hunt
Our Open Gardens event is sponsored by Watsons Electrical of Kimbolton.
The next full meeting of the Gardening Club will be held on Wednesday 12th February at Joyce and Grahame’s, Chestnut View, High Street at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome!
