A large congregation welcomed Spaldwick’s new vicar – Stephen Bowring – who was officially licensed at a special service held in Spaldwick Church on Sunday 16th February 2014. Stephen is the latest in a long line of rectors of Spaldwick Church dating back to 1265, as shown here. Representatives and Church Wardens from Spaldwick, Easton and Barham were in attendance. The Venerable Hugh McCurdy – Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech – led the service.
The congregation was treated to a performance by the Kym Valley Benefice Choir, conducted by Stephen Bowring himself, who has a Bachelor of Music degree. It was delightful to hear the voices of a choir in St James Church.
Stephen is now responsible for seven parishes – Kimbolton, Barham, Covington, Easton, Spaldwick, Stow Longa and Tilbrook.
The photo (above) shows Stephen with his wife, Lesley.

Dates and times of services will be posted, as usual, on the Spaldwick diary. For more information about Spaldwick Church, visit our Spaldwick Church page.
