Get Your Tickets for the Quiz and St George’s Night

We have two great events coming up in Spaldwick – the Quiz (28th February) and St George’s Day Celebration (22nd April), and you can now buy tickets for both events!

New (added 6 March 2015)! The Church Committee had its successful Quiz Night in the School Hall on 28th February when about 50 people came along to exercise their brains and taste the wholesome soups and cake supplied by Church members. The winners were Ed and Barbara Peace who went home with bottles of wine; we will not name and shame the losers who got a Kinder Egg each. £307 was raised, which is a welcome addition to the Church Funds, depleted by the cost of the re-roofing last year. Thank you to all those who helped and attended.

We have the Quiz on Saturday 28th February, taking place in the School Hall from 7 pm. Tickets are only £5 per person in aid of Spaldwick Church. Homemade soup, bread and cakes are provided. You are very welcome to bring your own drinks. Glasses are provided. Tickets are available from John Blatch, Liz McCue, Edie Adams, Stuart Dixon and Amba Harbour.

Back by popular demand, the St George’s Day meal organised by the Spaldwick Social Group will take place on Wednesday 22nd April at The George in Spaldwick (the night before the official day).

Only 9 tickets remaining! As last year, tickets are selling extremely quickly and we’ve already got a number of bookings. Already, 51 of the 60 available tickets have been sold and we are only in early February! To buy your tickets, email socialgroup@spaldwick.com or contact John Blatch or any Social Group Committee member. Tickets are priced at £13.50. A delicious two-course meal is included!

There will be a bottle raffle to raise funds for the village Fete; if you would like to donate a bottle please email socialgroup@spaldwick.com with your offer.

Steve and his team at the pub will put on a super roast beef meal (as shown in the photo below from last year) and there will again be readings and general jollity. We look forward to an evening of conversation, music, singing and general noise and banter as we celebrate heroism, courage and chivalry. Please buy your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
