Update! “Local residents and members of Spaldwick Parish Council spent an enjoyable couple of hours on Saturday 24th October 2015 cutting back the hedgerow along Church Lane in Spaldwick, to improve access and enhance the look of the area. Thanks to everyone who was able to support this Village Tidy Up initiative and to Kim Hall for supplying tea and biscuits.”

“Everyone enjoyed the chance to work as a team, bringing together residents from all over Spaldwick to help improve the village setting. We are looking forward to continuing this initiative with a Tidy Up of the Playground on Ferriman Road on a Saturday in November. Date to be confirmed. Thanks also to Mr Edwards of Glebe Farm for assisting in the disposal of the hedge cuttings.”

The Parish Council has organised a village tidy up campaign starting this Saturday 24th October at 10am.

We will be concentrating this first effort in Church Lane, which has become extremly untidy with brambles etc and needs a good trim. In future weeks, we will look at the area around the playground and then move on to other areas where village people have expressed concern.

We only intend to work until lunchtime and then maybe it would be pleasant to quench our thirst afterwards at The George as a reward for work well done.

If you can spare any time during the morning or provide access to green wheelie bins or cutting tools, your help would be welcome.

Please feel free to pass this request for help to any of your neighbours, family and friends as many hands make light work.

We hope to see as many as possible on Saturday morning at 10am in Church Lane.

Mike Robinson (Vice Chairman Spaldwick Parish Council)
