Spaldwick Social Group

The Spaldwick Social Events Group exists to initiate and organise social events for all ages to enhance the social life of the whole village community. In doing so, it collaborates and seeks the support of all the individual clubs and organisations within the village. The Group has also distributed over £10,000 to village activities. The latest events will always appear on the Spaldwick diary page. To get in touch, please email

Events organised by the Spaldwick Social Group

Spaldwick Fete

The Spaldwick Social Group organises the annual Spaldwick Fete, and the highly-popular Scarecrow competition. The Fete typically attracts about 600 visitors or more. There is always a brilliant atmosphere, with lots of activities and stalls to appeal to all ages, abilities and tastes. A ‘Spaldwick Bake Off’ was launched at the last Fete with a great selection of cupcakes and sweet and savoury entries, all being judged by Alister and Stephen from The George. In the evening of Fete day, a hog roast is available with musical entertainment and a bar.

Santa Sleigh round the Village

Every December, Spaldwick Social Group organises the visit of Santa to Spaldwick village. Children from the village are presented with gifts from Santa, and older members of the community are also given presents. The event finishes with community carol singing in The George. Watch the video below of the Santa Sleigh, which was recorded in 2013. Do you recognise all the faces?
