Thank you for voting in the Spaldwick scarecrow competition!
Online voting has FINISHED! In total, there were 177 votes this year – up from 112 votes last year (which was the first year for online voting). As you see from the votes below, it was certainly not a ‘one horse race’. Thank you to everyone who took part in a very close competition. The quality of entrants this year was amazing!
Congratulations to The Limes with the winning entry, shown below.

Spaldwick Fete 2014 (Saturday 12th July)
Welcome to our page about the 2014 Spaldwick Fete, which is organised by the Spaldwick Social Group. The Spaldwick Fete will take place this year on Saturday 12th July 2014, between 11am and 4pm. There will also be evening entertainment with a hog roast. This year’s event promises to be one of the best ever, with a live band in the evening!
Entrance charges
The entrance fee for the Fete during the day is 50p per adult. Children are free.
For the evening event, there will be a charge of £2 per person. This is to help cover the cost of the hog roast, bun and salad, and to part cover the cost of the band.
Fantastic entertainment and stalls throughout the day
The main Spaldwick Fete will take place on Saturday 12th July 2014 in the Spaldwick School playground, between 11am and 4pm.The theme of the Fete is ‘100 Years of Spaldwick’, so you will see many stall holders and helpers dressed in period costume! So, please come and join in to celebrate the history of our great village (and feel free to dress up).
For the first year ever, we give you the opportunity to view or download the programme, by clicking on the link below:

Evening entertainment with hog roast
The pace will not slacken, with our evening entertainment in the Spaldwick School playgroup on Saturday 12th July 2014 between 6.30pm and 10pm. We have a live band and hog roast, with a charge of only £2 per person. A licensed bar is available!
Last performing at the 2012 Spaldwick Fete, and back by popular demand, we have All the Right Notes, featuring Spaldwick’s Mark Hunter on drums and Mark Sturdy on bass and, from Coventry, Barrie and Paul on guitars and vocals. The band will play a varied range of music to include Soul, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Funk, Ska and Reggae. We need your help!
It takes a great deal of effort to put on the Spaldwick Fete and we would really appreciate your help! Any help – however little – will be really appreciated. This could involve putting gazebos up in the morning, helping on stalls (for hourly slots) or helping to clear away at the end of day. We are looking for people to volunteer to ‘man’ stalls on an hourly basis, so you only need to commit to an hour and it would really help make the day a great success.
If you would like to help in any way, please email socialgroup@spaldwick.com.
Please come to the Spaldwick Fete, and support our village!
